Economic Journal - Monday, Apr 13, 2015

(as of 7:00 AM PST)

Asian markets continue to surge with Honk Kong and Shanghai leading the way.  Dismal trade data out of China has investors hoping for further economic stimulus.  European markets are mixed with little data to work with.  The US markets are bouncing around flat-line this morning with a slight positive bias carrying over from last weeks nice market advance.  It should be a quiet day with no major economic reports due out.  Corporate earnings season kicks into full gear this week so expect indexes to reflect any positive surprises or earnings disappointments.  Gold is down slightly while oil is up over 2% this morning.  The US dollar index is flat.  Expect profit taking to dent markets as the day progresses.
